Dia de los Ninos is a signature library event and we go all out creating a festive, fun event for our families, it's one of the biggest Shute Park Library events of the year.  If you like creating a fun, festive atmosphere come help us decorate the library, make the guest partner tables look great, and make the senior center area festive.  We'll work fast and furious to get everything ready for the party!

Assist with sharing library information, assist with running the prize wheel, and assist with any hands on activities. Help pass out cake! Welcome families and keep count of attendees.   Meet van at outreach location. 

Dia de los Ninos is a signature library event. In 2026 the event is broken into three segments.  People who just want to do set up is first from 10-12.  People who like engaging with our families will help with activities, cake dispensing, and table hosting, that's 12-2:15.  People who want to wear one of the inflatable costumes for 45 minutes sign up for the inflatable costume shift from 2:00-5:00, please go to that shift opportunity to do the 2-5 shift (which also includes activities and take down). 

Dia de los Ninos is a signature library event.  This year, we have a a special shift opportunity for those who want to truly be the center of attention as one of our inflatable costume characters! 

We have inflatable costumes (Pig, Pokemon, Elephant, Paw Patrol Dog, Wacky Waving Thing etc) you'll wear one for 45 minutes and interact with children for photo opps and general fun.  Usually one or two characters are out at any given time, so while you wait you'll help pass out library swag, help with activities, or provide info about the library!  Costume shifts start at 2:15, you'll "perform" for 45 minutes, then take a break, and another group of inflatables goes out.  
At the end you'll help pack everything up back into the van.
