Who We Are
Help spread the word about how awesome libraries are by joining the Outreach Team! Outreach volunteers meet the Library outreach van at various locations throughout the City of Hillsboro. Outreach may find itself at a school helping kids learn how to use their library cards, Outreach may be at a shopping area parking lot, a school for an after school or family night program, or at a park or community center. The Outreach van meets people where they are.
What We Do
Volunteer Outreach team members are enthusiastic supporters of the library. You'll meet the van at the location, help to set up the tables, displays, or activities. You'll help facilitate the activities, share information about the library, or host the prize wheel where you'll give fun library swag away. Volunteers should be friendly, outgoing, able to interact with joy and enthusiasm to all ages from toddlers to elders. Varying shifts, locations, and days make this an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to be involved but can't commit to a regular weekly schedule.
