The Senior Center Greeter is the first point of contact for all visitors, providing a warm and welcoming environment to older adults, families, and community members. This role is crucial in ensuring that everyone who walks through the door feels seen, heard, and guided with respect and professionalism. As a Greeter, you will help create a positive and vibrant atmosphere by assisting guests in finding the events or activities they’re seeking, answering questions, and connecting them with additional resources or information as needed.
Your customer service skills, friendly demeanor, and passion for supporting the Hillsboro community will help you embody the mission and values of the City of Hillsboro. You will be a representative of the Senior Center’s dedication to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and supportive space for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome & Engage Visitors:
- Greet all visitors with a friendly and positive attitude, making them feel valued and appreciated.
- Provide general information about the Senior Center’s daily activities, events, and services.
- Offer guidance to help visitors navigate the space and locate specific events or programs.
- Direct Visitors to Events & Activities:
- Be familiar with the schedule of events and activities, providing accurate directions and recommendations to visitors.
- Assist in checking in attendees for scheduled events or programs.
- Ensure that individuals with special needs are supported and informed about the available services or accommodations.
- Customer Service:
- Provide clear, concise, and polite responses to questions about the Senior Center’s offerings, policies, and community resources.
- Assist with minor troubleshooting or concerns and direct more complex inquiries to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain a Welcoming Environment:
- Keep the entrance area tidy and inviting.
- Create a positive, respectful atmosphere for all visitors, embodying the Senior Center’s mission of inclusion and support.
- Collaborate with Staff & Volunteers:
- Communicate effectively with Senior Center staff and fellow volunteers to ensure smooth operations.
- Support Mission & Values:
- Actively contribute to maintaining an environment that aligns with the City of Hillsboro's values of respect, service, integrity, and innovation.
