Help the Friends of the Library get their 1000 square foot "booth" space ready for the mini sale at the Washington County Fair. The booth is inside the Wingspan Event Center (air conditioned), with about two and a half days to fill the space with books, DVD's, Blu Rays, puzzles and all kinds of things fair goers will be excited to purchase. Set up is very physical and for this sale, very fast paced. Volunteers should expect to be on their feet 2-4 hours at a time, able to reach, bend, grasp, push, pull, lift, carry, and sort books as directed. An above average knowledge of the English alphabet is required. Set up locations are off site, please be aware of the directions to the location. Parking during set up is in designated areas at the Fairgrounds, with email updates on parking set prior to your shift. Dress code is comfortable clothing you can move in, closed toed comfortable shoes are essential as you will be lifting, moving, shoving, pushing, pulling boxes of books and other materials. Must be physically able to safely move and lift boxes. Handcarts are available, but the boxes still have to be lifted onto the handcart. Ability to follow precise instructions, work independently but ask questions if not sure what to do, ability to stand, bend, reach, push, pull etc is required.
