Join us for a day of family fun and community spirit at the SHARC Family Triathlon! This non-competitive event features swimming in the outdoor pool at SHARC, biking through the nearby neighborhood, and running around Shute Park. As a volunteer, you will play an important role in creating a positive experience by supporting and encouraging participants as they swim, bike, and run their way to the finish line.
Volunteer Roles
- Event Setup and Cleanup: Help prepare the event space before the triathlon and assist with restoring the area afterward.
- Registration Check-In: Welcome participants and assist with the public-facing registration process.
- Transition Area Support: Guide participants safely as they move between the swimming, biking, and running segments.
- Participant Support: Provide directions, information, and encouragement throughout the course.
Who Can Volunteer
- Teens (ages 14–17) without a parent or guardian present
- Adults (18+)
- Older adults (62+)
Requirements
- Volunteers should be comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Standing for the majority of the event is required.
- Some light lifting may be necessary.
Volunteers play a key role in the safety and well-being of participants, as this is a health-, wellness-, and safety-focused event. All volunteer roles involve direct interaction and communication with participants, and your enthusiasm and support can make a meaningful difference in their experience.
