Senior Center: Distribution Line

Position Overview: Food Distribution Line volunteers are invaluable members of our team, playing a crucial role in the post-lunch food distribution of donated foods at the City of Hillsboro. In this registered volunteer position, Ambassadors are responsible for sorting foods from boxes to ice bins or reorganizing foods to facilitate easy patron choice selection. Please note that some food boxes may individually weigh as much as 20 pounds, which may limit some volunteers during this part of the process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort donated food items from boxes to ice bins or reorganize foods to facilitate easy patron choice selection.
• Assist with maintaining a clean and organized food distribution area.
• Provide assistance and support to patrons as needed during the food distribution process.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with fellow volunteers and staff to ensure efficient food distribution operations.
